SEO might be a confusing venture for a lot of people. Even many so-called-experts can have a difficult time keeping a
website others in terms of the search engines.

Primary... the major search engines are constantly changing their algorithms to help bring you the the majority of
relevant website listings to your search query. Search engine listings also change their algorithms to stay ahead of
the dishonest companies that quickly learn how to manipulate the search results.

As soon as the search engines change the direction they list websites, there are actually unscrupulous people who
get right to work trying to figure out how to cheat the machine.

These people are using what's known since "Black Hat SEO" and if you are trying to run a legitimate website, refrain
from them at all cost! Sure your website will get a high listing rather rapidly using black hat tactics, but as soon as the
search engines ascertain what you're doing, they are going to likely ban your website from their listings altogether
(for good). And show up, they will figure it out.

Second... There's lots of misnomers about what's more important in regards to SEO. Some so called SEO gurus will
have you believe page rank is it is important when it comes to search engines. This is simply not true.

Page rank (or Google PUBLIC REALTIONS) is one important factor in regards to ranking a site for the search engines,
nevertheless SERPs (or Google search Page) is precisely what really counts.

"Page Rank" is Google's way of putting a number to the authority of a site. Once they believe your site is extremely
important, they'll give you a higher PR.

Nevertheless it doesn't mean the authority of your site will get you indexed to suit your needs main keywords.

There are thousands, perhaps even millions, of websites that contain a low page position, but are listed to the first
page of the major search engines (including Google), for many top keywords. By contrast, there are actually just as
many high PR ranking internet pages, that will be buried in "no mans land" when it comes to the search engines (which
include Google).

Additionally, the other major search engines (Gmail, WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER, Bing, and many hundreds smaller
search engines) don't really care about your "Google Page Rank" at all. They only treasure giving their visitors
relevant web advertising.

So pay close attention to this... would you rather have a low Google PR of several, and become listed on the first
page in the search results? Or does one rather have a higher PR of 5 and also 6, and be listed on the tenth page in
the search results, where no one will ever find people..? I think the answer is evident.

One of the websites I built for my other online business, hasn't had a Google PR of more than 2 for the previous 4
years (since it's been live online). But it has been on the first page of all major search engines (with regard to my main
keywords) for 3 1/2 of 4 years. I'll take the low PR and keep that high listing any day with the week.
