SEO is a confusing venture for most people. Even many so-called-experts can have a difficult time keeping a website
others in terms of the search engines.

First... the search engines are constantly changing their algorithms in an effort to bring you the the majority of
relevant website listings to your search query. Search engines also change their algorithms to stay before dishonest
companies that quickly learn how to manipulate the search outcomes.

When the search engines change the way they list websites, there are unscrupulous people who go right to work
trying to figure out how to cheat the system.

These people are using what's known as "Black Hat SEO" and if you're trying to run a legitimate website, refrain from
them at all expense! Sure your website will receive a high listing rather easily using black hat tactics, but when the
search engines ascertain what you're doing, they will likely ban your website from their listings altogether (forever).
And eventually, they will figure it out.

Minute... There's a whole lot of misnomers about what's more important when it comes to SEO. A few so called SEO
gurus will have you believe page rank is it is important when it comes to search engines. It's|This is certainly simply
not true.

Google page rank (or Google PR) is one important factor in regards to ranking a site for the major search engines, but
SERPs (or Search engine results Page) is what really counts.

"Page Rank" is Google's manner of putting a number on the authority of a web site. Once they believe your site is
important, they'll provide higher PR.

But it surely doesn't mean the authority of your site will get you indexed for you main keywords.

There are actually thousands, perhaps even millions, of websites which happen to have a low page rank, but are
listed over the first page of the major search engines like yahoo (including Google), for many top keywords. By
contrast, you can find just as many high PR ranking web pages, which might be buried in "no mans land" in regards to
the search engines (including Google).

Also, the other major search engines (Yahoo, WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER, Ask, and 100s of smaller search engines)
don't really worry about your "Google Page Rank" whatsoever. They only like giving their visitors relevant search

So ask yourself this... would you rather have a small Google PR of several, and become listed on the first page with
the search results? Or could you rather have a excessive PR of 5 or even 6, and be listed on the tenth page of the
search results, where no one will ever find people..? I think the answer is evident.

One of the websites I built for my other web business, hasn't possessed a Google PR greater than 2 for the last 4
years (considering it's been live online). But it has been on the first page of all major search engines (with regard to
my main keywords) for 3 1/2 of the 4 years. I'll take the lower PR and keep this high listing any day with the week.
